Mesasuring Guide
We often get asked how to do this, so you'll be glad to know our easy-to-follow guide has all the bases covered.
Grab your metal tape measure—it's the best tool for the job!
All you need to know is the width and the drop (length)—simple, right
You'll want to choose between the two types of fittings.
Measure the width of your window recess in three different places: at the top, in the middle, and at the bottom. Use the smallest of these three measurements as your blind's width.
However, if you're ordering a Roller blind or a Twist&Fit blind, you should always use the top measurement to ensure it fits perfectly.
Measure the drop of your window recess in three different spots: on the left, in the middle, and on the right.
The smallest of these three measurements will be the correct drop for your blind.
If your recess depth is 60mm or less, or if the window opens inward, an exact fitting is your best option. To do this, please follow our measuring guide for exact fitting blinds.
If you have tiling or a picture rail around the bottom of your recess and the difference in width from the top is 20mm or less, we recommend providing the measurement from the top for a nice, snug fit. Otherwise, measure the width from the tiled section, as it's usually the narrowest point.
Measure from one side of the window to the other, making sure to measure from the exact points where you'd like the finished edges of your blind to be.
Measure from top to bottom, beginning where you want the blind's rail to sit and finishing where you want the bottom of your blind to reach.
Please note: the exact measurements for Roller Blinds don't just include the width of the fabric itself, but also the headrail, fittings, and controls.
For the best results, let your blind overlap the edges of the window recess by at least 35mm on each side. Just be sure you have enough space to fit the suggested overlap.
